SAR Team Finds Woman In South Central Timor Who Died In Flood
KUPANG - The joint SAR team in Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) Regency, East Nusa Tenggara found Vices Nae (40) a housewife in Pisan Village, East Amanuban District, who was reported missing in the flood and found dead.
"The victim who had been missing since Thursday (10/2) due to being swept away by the flood was finally found by the SAR team on Friday (11/2)," said Head of the Kupang Class A Search and Rescue Office, Emi Friezer in Kupang, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 11.
Victim Vices Nae (40) disappeared after being swept away by a flood while crossing the Noem POM river in Pisan Village, East Amanuban District, when heavy rain was pouring down the area on Thursday, February 10 afternoon.
The Kupang Class A Search and Rescue Office previously immediately mobilized a SAR team of 10 people to the scene.
"The SAR team arrived at the scene on Friday (11/2) at 06.00 WITA because of the long distance, so the SAR team only arrived at the scene in the morning," he said.
Emi explained that after arriving at the scene the SAR team immediately carried out a search for the victim by following the river where the victim was dragged by the flood currents.
After searching for almost four hours, the victim was found by a joint SAR team at coordinates 9°43'47.59"S - 124°34'16.80"E or 2 km from the location of the victim who had an accident and died.
After being found, the victim of Vices Nae was immediately handed over to the victim's family.
