Criminal Investigation Unit Dismantles Sumatra-Madura Drug Network, 25 Kg Of Methamphetamine Confiscated

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Drug Crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit foiled an attempt to smuggle 25 kilograms of methamphetamine. The distribution of this drug is a Sumatra-Madura network.

"Disclosure of the distribution of methamphetamine-type narcotics controlled by a syndicate from Madura", said Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department, Brigadier General Krisno H. Siregar, to reporters on Thursday, February 10.

In this case, 9 people were named as suspects. They have the initials MJ, B, AR aka Dragon, SB, N, MK, AG, H, and A.

This disclosure stems from information about a transaction in the Bekasi Regency area, West Java, on December 3, 2021. The information continues to be investigated until it leads to the Kedungwaringin area.

"There they managed to arrest two suspects MJ and B with 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine", said Krisno.

Development was carried out again. It is known that they are controlled by AB who are included in the AT network. Both are Madurese networks with fugitive status.

While searching for the whereabouts of the two people, the police resumed their development and arrested three suspects with the initials AR, SB, and N in the Bekasi Regency area on December 20, 2022.

"From the arrest, the police confiscated 7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine", said Krisno.

The arrest was continued to be investigated until it finally led to the buyer. Finally, the police arrested MK and AG in the Cikarang area, Bekasi, on December 24.

From the examination, MK and AG admitted that they were ordered by H. So, a search was carried out and succeeded in capturing him in the Sampang area, Madura.

With the widespread circulation of methamphetamine originating from Madura, Krisno continued, his party continues to explore the AT and H networks.

Then information was obtained that there would be a shipment of methamphetamine from Sumatra to Madura. With this information, the police began to prepare a strategy and continued to monitor the movements of the suspected parties.

"On January 17, one suspect with the initials A was arrested at Seaport Interdiction Bakauheni Port, Lampung with 8 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine as evidence", Krisno said.

Although it has arrested several suspects, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police continues to explore the network and hunt down ATs who are still at large.

Meanwhile, the suspects who have been arrested have been detained. They were charged with Article 114 Paragraph 2 Jo Article 132 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 the Year 2009 concerning Narcotics. They also face a maximum sentence of the death penalty and a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
