Duel Spence Jr And Yordenis Ugas Held April 16

JAKARTA - Errol Spence Jr and Yordenis Ugas have agreed to hold a unification match for the WBC, IBF and WBA Super welterweight world titles at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, United States (US) on April 16.

As reported by Antara from the official WBC website on Thursday, the match between Spence Jr and Ugas will be promoted by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and will be a home game for Spence Jr who grew up near Arlington, in the Dallas metropolitan area.

For Spence Jr, this match was also the first in more than a year. The last time, the holder of the WBC and IBF welterweight division titles went into the ring when they beat Danny Garcia at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, December 5, 2020.

After that, Errol Spence Jr was scheduled to duel against Manny Pacquiao at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas on August 21, 2021. However, he failed to appear because he had problems with the retina of the eye that made him have to go up to the operating table.

Throughout his career, Spence Jr. is unbeaten in 27 professional matches with a knockout win (KO) ratio of 77.78 percent or 21 successful defeats against opponents.

Meanwhile, Ugas is a Cuban boxer with a 27 (KO)-4-0 record. He holds the WBA Super title after winning on points in the last match against Manny Pacquiao at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, August 21, 2021.

The victory was somewhat surprising, because Ugas was present as a substitute opponent for Errol Spence Jr who withdrew from the match.

Now, Spence Jr and Ugas will duel for three world welterweight titles.
