COVID-19 "Crazy", DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Restricts Public Transportation To 70 Percent
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has limited public transportation capacity to a maximum of 70 percent or lowered from the previous 100 percent as stipulated in Governor's Decree 118 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) level three.
"The most important thing is to be vigilant again, to be disciplined in implementing health protocols (prokes)," said Anies through the Instagram account @aniesbaswedan in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 8.
The decrease in capacity is in accordance with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 9 of 2022, effective from 8-14 February 2022.
This capacity limitation applies to public transportation, mass transportation, conventional and online taxis and rental vehicles.
In addition to public transportation, other provisions also limit community activities, including offices operating in the non-essential sector, which are expected to resume working from home or WFH and only 25 percent of employees working from the office.
Schools have been set at 50 percent Face-to-face Learning (PTM) and parents are given the freedom to choose whether their children attend school or their children learn from home.
On the other hand, the capacity of business places ranging from supermarkets, food stalls, restaurants to malls in DKI Jakarta from 50 percent when PPKM level two became 60 percent when PPKM status was raised to level three.
The people's market that sells non-daily necessities is also opened at 60 percent capacity.
Likewise, food stalls/warteg, street vendors, hawker stalls are allowed to open until 21.00 WIB with a maximum capacity of 60 percent.
Restaurants, cafes in buildings or open areas, either in separate locations or in malls, are open until 21.00 WIB with a capacity of 60 percent.
Meanwhile, restaurants and cafes with operating hours at night from 18.00 WIB to 00.00 WIB are allowed to open with a capacity of 25 percent of visitors.
Activities at malls, shopping centers, trade centers are allowed to open with a maximum visitor capacity of 60 percent until 21.00 WIB.
The children's playground in the mall is opened with a capacity of 35 percent with the condition that they have been fully vaccinated.
While the cinema operates with a maximum audience capacity of 50 percent. Children are allowed to enter the cinema as long as they are accompanied by their parents and have been vaccinated at least the first dose.
For restaurants within the cinema area, they are allowed to accept meals on the premises with a maximum capacity of 50 percent.
Places of worship are limited to 50 percent capacity and activities in public areas such as public parks are also limited to 25 percent.
