Arriving In Lombok For The 2022 MotoGP Pre-season, Marc Marquez Et Al Get Maximum Security
JAKARTA – The MotoGP 2022 pre-season test crew and racers at the Mandalika Circuit have started arriving in Lombok. They also get maximum security from the organizers.
The pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit will take place on 11-13 February. Some of the crew and riders have started arriving since Monday, February 7 yesterday, with two charter flights.
"For the crew and riders there are around 500 who came and they came from Malaysia. So for security we involve as much as possible," said Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Hery Indra Cahyono, quoted by Antara.
Hery said that security for the crew and racers will be assisted by personnel from the NTB Police and so far have not involved personnel from outside the NTB Police.
"Meanwhile, for the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) there are also around two platoons of personnel or around 60 people," he said.
In addition to the crew and drivers, on the same day logistics also came through the airport. The logistics came with Qatar Airways QR 8496 Boeing 777 from Kuala Lumpur at 20.30 WITA.
The next logistics will arrive today with the same airline at 12:10 WITA. The arrival of both logistics, crew, and drivers took place in stages.
So far, the riders who have arrived in Lombok include Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez, Pol Espargaro, Darryn Binder, and Brad Binder. This can be seen from their uploads on Instagram social media.
Mandalika is included in the second series of MotoGP this season. The pride of Indonesia circuit will hold a race on March 18-20 after the first series at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar.
