Luhut Changes Some Level 3 PPKM Rules Now Implemented In Jabodetabek

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government changed a number of rules on PPKM Level 3.

PPKM Level 3 in Java-Bali over the next week will be implemented in the Jabodetabek agglomeration areas, namely DKI Jakarta, Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Depok City, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang City.

Apart from Jabodetabek, a number of areas that implemented PPKM Level 3 on February 8 to 14 in Java-Bali are the Special Region of Yogyakarta, the Greater Bandung agglomeration, and Bali.

This rule adjustment, said Luhut, was considered from the characteristics of the distribution of the Omicron variant which was different from the Delta variant in mid-2021.

"Faced with the characteristics of the Omicron variant which are different from the Delta variant, the Government has made several adjustments to the Level 3 regulation with a more targeted tightening policy for the elderly, comorbid and unvaccinated groups," Luhut said at a PPKM evaluation press conference, Monday, February 7.

Luhut explained that several adjustments made to export-oriented and domestic industries could continue to operate 100 percent if they had IOMKI with at least 75 employees vaccinated with the second dose and using PeduliLindung.

Supermarkets can operate until 21.00 and a maximum of 60 percent of visitors. Meanwhile, the people's market can operate until 20.00 and a maximum of 60 percent of visitors.

The mall will be open until 21.00, a maximum of 60 percent of visitors for children less than 12 years old at least the first dose of vaccine.

Then, children's playgrounds and entertainment venues can be opened up to a maximum of 35 percent with the mandatory obligation of proof of the first dose of vaccination for children under 12 years old.

Warteg or snack stalls can be opened until 21.00 WIB with a maximum of 60 percent of visitors. Restaurants or cafes can also be opened for a maximum of 60 percent of visitors until 21.00.

Cinemas will still be open, with children under 12 years old allowed in but must have received their first dose.

Then, places of worship are at a maximum of 50 percent capacity, public facilities are a maximum of 25 percent. Then, arts and culture activities, sports, and social activities of the community are a maximum of 25 percent.

Furthermore, Luhut revealed that the trend of increasing COVID-19 cases in Indonesia was increasing very rapidly. However, in general the impact on hospital occupancy and overall mortality is still relatively small compared to Delta.

"For example, the increase in cases in the provinces of DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten has increased very rapidly, but the hospitalization and death rates are still relatively low and smaller than the Delta wave," Luhut explained.

"But for the province of Bali, special attention needs to be paid because there is a trend of adding cases that have exceeded the peak of the Delta wave and the hospital occupancy rate has also increased," he continued.
