The Bodies Of 13 Victims Of A Tourism Bus Crash Into A Cliff In Bukit Bego, Bantul, Arrive In Sukoharjo
SUKOHARJO - A total of 13 bodies of victims of a tourism bus traffic accident sent from Bantul, Yogyakarta arrived at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, Monday morning this morning.
The victim's body was brought by an ambulance to Sukoharjo Hospital and received by Regent Etik Suryani accompanied by Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan. The body was then handed over to the victim's family for burial.
Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan said the tourist bus that had the accident was a home convection tour group belonging to residents of Mranggen Village, Polokarto District, Sukoharjo Regency.
After arriving in Sukoharjo, one by one the coffins were transferred from the ambulance to another ambulance that had been prepared at the hospital. These 13 ambulances are members of the Sukoharjo Ambulance Forum Association.
The 13 bodies, at around 01.25 WIB, were taken to the funeral home accompanied by representatives of the family. The repatriation of the bodies from the hospital received security from the ranks of the Sukoharjo Police, assisted by a number of volunteers.
The police chief explained that the funeral for the bodies from the villages of Mranggen and Wonorejo was carried out this Monday. Prior to burial, a funeral prayer will be performed.
"We will continue to escort so that we arrive at the cemetery until the funeral runs in an orderly manner. Because this is still a pandemic, we don't want to cause a crowd that violates the health procedures," said the Police Chief as quoted by Antara.
Previously, the Bantul Police of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) escorted the victim who died due to a single tourism bus accident in Bukit Bego, Wukirsari Village, Imogiri District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, last Sunday.
According to the Head of Bantul Police, AKBP Ihsan, the deceased was sent with the police escorted by the hospital and Jasa Raharja to Sukoharjo or the address according to the victim's identity card (KTP).
A tourism bus that hit a cliff in Bukit Bego on Jalan Imogiri-Dlingo, Bantul Regency, on Sunday at around 13.30 WIB resulted in 13 deaths and 34 other passengers being injured. The bus transports a group of tourists from Sukoharjo, Central Java.
