Susi Air Confused With The Regent Of Malinau, Does Not Accept Application For Extending Hangar Rentals But Responds To Rejection Letter
JAKARTA - Susi Air's attorney, Donal Fariz, said that there was an ambiguous statement regarding the expulsion of the pioneering airline from the hangar of Colonel RA Bessing Malinau Airport. The regent of Malinau said that he had never received a letter from Susi Air, but at another time he sent a letter of refusal.
Initially, Donal said that since the beginning Susi Air had built good communication with the Malinau Regency Government. In fact, his party has proposed an extension of the hangar rental contract since 1.5 months before the contract period expires according to the existing agreement.
"The letter was submitted on November 15, 2021, then on December 9, the regional government answered that it could not be extended. But it was not explained why and so on," Donal said at a press conference held online, Friday, January 4.
Next, Susi Air visited the Regent of Malinau with the aim of communicating well about this issue.
"But strangely, the regent's WhatsApp message on January 1, 2022 to the president director stated that they had never received a letter requesting a hangar extension from Susi Air," said the lawyer.
The answer is certainly a spotlight for Susi Air. The reason is that a letter from the regional government regarding the refusal was issued on December 9.
"He himself had replied on December 9 with a rejection letter. However, on WhatsApp, he said that he had never received an application for an extension," said Donal.
"It is a question for all of us whether the December 9 rejection letter was a fake signature or not by certain people. That is also possible. So in our opinion, we think the legal process is more serious to dig up significant information and information," he added.
Regarding the rejection of the extension by the Malinau Regency Government, Donal said, Susi Air initially thought the hangar would be used for more urgent matters. For example, such as the COVID-19 Task Force and the BNPB.
"We thought that first. But apparently not, it was given to other parties who in our view are not as urgent as Susi Air's needs. We can monitor in the future if she occupies it, what is put there. We will see later," he concluded.
