The Spread Of COVID-19 In Batam Continues To Increase

BATAM - The Batam City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Riau Islands, noted that COVID-19 cases had continued to increase in the last two weeks, until Batam City District has now become a red zone with 24 active cases exposed to the virus, on Thursday, February 3.

In the Batam COVID-19 Task Force report distributed by spokesman Azril Apriansyah, it was stated that now there are no more green areas on the main island. One of the nine sub-districts is a red zone, two are orange, and the other is yellow.

The sub-districts that are included in the orange zone are Sekupang and Bengkong with 12 and 17 active COVID-19 people, respectively. And the yellow zones are Batuaji, Lubukbaja, Batuampar, Nongsa, Sei Beduk and Sagulung with one person, nine people, two people, seven people, two people and three people being actively exposed to the Corona virus.

Meanwhile, the three buffer sub-districts are still green zones, namely Behindpadang, Bulang and Galang with no active cases of COVID-19.

According to the report from the Task Force, it was noted that today an additional nine people were exposed to COVID-19, and four people completed isolation.

With this, a total of 25,9950 people have been confirmed positive, 25,031 of whom have completed isolation, 842 have died, and 77 are active cases.

"The cure rate is 96.459 percent, the death rate is 3.245 percent, and active cases are 0.297 percent," said the Task Force.

According to the Task Force's records, of the 77 active COVID-19 cases, 63 of them were treated at the Galang Island Hospital, four people at Awal Bros Hospital, three people at BP Batam Hospital, two people at Bhayangkara Hospital, two people at Elisabeth Hospital Batam. City and one person in Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Embung Fatimah Hospital, and Elisabeth Lubukbaja Hospital.

Mentioned, from 842 cases died in Batam, 433 of them without comorbid, and 409 others with comorbid.

The highest comorbid diseases in COVID-19 deaths were diabetes mellitus with 216 cases, hypertension with 182 cases, and pneumonia with 104 cases. Meanwhile, the results of the Batam COVID-19 situation assessment as of February 1, 2022 were level 1.

It is stated that the level 1 community transmission assessment with conformation cases is 4.73 per 100 thousand inhabitants per week, hospitalization in hospitals is 0.68 per 100 thousand inhabitants per week, and death is 0.00 per 100 thousand inhabitants per week.

Then for testing it is considered adequate, with a positivity rate of 0.3 percent per week, tracing is also considered moderate with a close contact ratio of 23.44 per confirmed case per week, and adequate treatment with 2.3 percent BOR per week.

Likewise, vaccination was considered adequate, which reached 113.85% of the target population receiving the first dose of vaccine.
