Omicron COVID-19 Patient From Jember Declared Cured
JEMBER - The patient with confirmed COVID-19 of the Omicron variant from Jember Regency, East Java was declared cured because the results of the PCR swab test were negative.
"Thank God, the patient in question has recovered and the results of tracing his close contacts are also negative," said Jember COVID-19 Task Force spokesman Bobby Arie Sandy, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3.
According to him, the patient who was exposed to the Omicron variant was domiciled outside the city of Jember, but had a Jember resident identity card (KTP), so he was recorded as a positive case of COVID-19 in Jember Regency.
"The person concerned was exposed to the Omicron variant of the Corona virus after traveling from abroad, so he was immediately quarantined and underwent treatment according to procedures in his domicile city, not in Jember," he said.
Previously, the Institute of Tropical Disease (ITD) Universitas Airlangga released the latest data on additional Omicron cases in East Java on January 28, 2021 with a total of 82 new cases with details of 31 people from Surabaya, Malang City (22).
Sidoarjo (5), Gresik (5), Madiun Regency (5), Malang Regency (5), Pasuruan Regency (4), and one person each from Mojokerto City, Lamongan Regency, Jember, Pacitan, and Trenggalek.
While the development of positive cases of COVID-19 in Jember Regency on February 2, 2022, there were five confirmed positive patients spread across Sumbersari District as many as two people, Balung District as many as one person and Patrang District as three people.
"Three patients who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 are in a centralized isolation area to undergo treatment," he said.
Jember Regency is at PPKM level 2 according to Inmendagri Number 06 of 2022 and based on the distribution of 31 sub-districts, 13 sub-districts are recorded as being in the green zone, then 13 sub-districts are in the orange zone, and five sub-districts are in the yellow zone.
