Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In The House Of Representatives Increase To 142 People
JAKARTA - The Secretary-General of the House Of Representatives, Indra Iskandar, confirmed that there was an increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in the House Of Representatives (DPR) building. As of today, a total of 142 people have been exposed to COVID-19 in the parliament complex.
"So for today, I call it positive yesterday, 97 yesterday afternoon and 45 people added. So 142 people (positive for COVID-19)", said Indra at the DPR building, Thursday, February 3.
Indra explained, the 142 people were detected positive for COVID-19 after using antigen and PCR tests. All of them, both members of the DPR and Experts to State Civil Apparatus have carried out self-quarantine.
"Some of the characteristics of Omicron are certainly our records. So for those who are self-quarantined, we will monitor their symptoms in the next two days whether they match the Omicron symptoms, we will monitor them. Because our basis is still using antigen swabs and PCR", he said.
Regarding this condition, Indra said the Secretariat General and the leadership of the DPR will discuss activities, both work meetings and others at the Indonesian House Of Representatives of Deliberative Body (Bamus) this afternoon. The reason is that the DPR will enter a recess on February 18 next.
"Later, inputs from the factions will be submitted on the activities of the DPR until the end of the session period on February 18, so the decision will be there", he concluded.

Previously, Indra said there were 9 DPR members and 80 DPR civil servants as well as experts who were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
"Regarding our tracing within the DPR, what is currently being carried out through our lab is that there are 9 positive DPR members and 80 people from Civil Servant Investigator (PPNS) employees and council experts", said Indra to reporters, Wednesday, February 2.
