The Government Will Study The Application For Formal Examination Of The IKN Law At The Constitutional Court
JAKARTA - The Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa said he would study the formal test lawsuit filed related to the State Capital Law (IKN). This lawsuit was filed by the National Axis of State Sovereignty (PNKN) to the Constitutional Court (MK).
"Regarding the judicial review at the Constitutional Court, I think we will certainly study what was stated there," Suharso told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 2.
Not only that, Suharso said the government would also study the formal defects in the legislation. However, this will be done after the petition is received.
"We will examine whether there are formal and material defects. I have not read the petition submitted," he said.
As previously reported, the National Axis of State Sovereignty (PNKN) has registered the Application for Formal Examination of the State Capital Law (IKN) to the Constitutional Court (MK), Wednesday, February 2.
The PNKN Coordinator, Marwan Batubara, conveyed that the application was still limited to requesting a formal test, not yet a material test and it will be proposed. He explained that this was done because the government and the DPR were deemed to have conspired in the formulation of the IKN Law.
"There was an evil conspiracy between the government and the DPR. Why? Because they hide essential and strategic things from what should be the contents of the law," Marwan told reporters in front of the Constitutional Court (MK) Building on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Wednesday 2 February.
"They hide it and they say it will be regulated in implementing regulations, whether it's a PP (Government Regulation or Perpres (Presidential Regulation)," added Marwan.
According to him, many essential and strategic matters that should involve community participation in the discussion process, are actually monopolized in implementing regulations.
Regarding the application for a formal examination of the IKN Law, Marwan admitted that this time the application was submitted by 12 figures. However, Marwan said, the name of the applicant will be added in the repair process.
"What we have conveyed is that there are only about 12 applicants, in order for us to speed up the process. But later in the repair, we believe that there will be more than 100 people," he said.
