More Focus On Working On Hajj And Umrah Business, Bank Muamalat Optimistic Of Sharia Ecosystem Growing Fast
JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. believes that the sharia ecosystem in the country will continue to grow and develop in the future.
Bank Muamalat President Director Achmad K. Permana said that the assumption was based on the potential value of the halal industry which is expected to continue to increase in 2022.
In his notes, Indonesia currently occupies the 4th position in the Global Islamic Economic Indicator (GIEI) index. It is stated that Indonesia has a great opportunity to develop halal food, sharia finance, halal tourism, to Muslim clothing, and halal pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
"Therefore, industry players need to understand sharia economic regulations and the ability to see the opportunities and potential of the market," he said in an official statement quoted by the editorial team on Wednesday, February 2.
According to Permana, technological developments in the digital era are capital to rise and recover in a pandemic situation.
"Alhamdulillah, now Bank Muamalat has also risen and will participate in encouraging the growth of the sharia ecosystem," he said.
Permana's words refer to the condition of the company which is now able to focus more on facilitating the hajj and umrah segments. Just so you know, the entry of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) as controller has made Muamalat more flexible to move in the worship service business.
"God willing, we are present and will continue to synergize with various stakeholders to serve the needs of pilgrims and prospective pilgrims in Indonesia," he said.
On the same occasion, the Executive Director of the Muamalat Institute, Anton Hendrianto, said that the close policy synergy and economic performance in 2021 were the capital to rise and be optimistic.
"We believe that business travel will be better in line with Indonesia's stronger economic recovery this year," he said.
Anton explained that Indonesia has many resources that allow it to become the center of the world's sharia economy.
"We know that Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. This is the capital to be able to expand the market share of consumers of sharia products while at the same time giving birth to various product innovations," he said.
