JAKARTA - Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Arsari Group officially launched PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT), as an independent digital fiber infrastructure platform to support the acceleration of Indonesia's digital transformation.
As an independent platform, IFT will manage more than 86,000 kilometers of fiber network which includes backbone networks, domestic undersea cables, and access networks.
With independent governance and an open access business model, IFT is designed to expand wholesale partnerships with telecommunications operators, companies, hyperscalers, and digital service providers to accelerate the equitable distribution of high-quality connectivity throughout Indonesia.
The launch of IFT marks the completion of a strategic transaction that began with the signing of an Investment Agreement in December 2025, in which Indosat and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta transferred ownership of IFT shares to PT Nusantara Fiber Teknologi (NFT), an investment platform owned by the Arsari Group.
After the transaction, Indosat and Lintasarta collectively own 49.9% of NFT shares. This transaction generated gross proceeds of approximately IDR 11.7 trillion for the Indosat Group, which will be used to strengthen its core business, including the development of connectivity, acceleration of 5G implementation, and AI-based digital services.
President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha said that the presence of IFT is a manifestation of the company's commitment to empowering all Indonesian people through technology that never changes.
"By providing world-class fiber infrastructure through an independent open access-based platform led by experts in the industry, we want to ensure that the benefits of AI, cloud, and the next generation of digital services can be felt more broadly by the entire community. This is a form of technology for everyone," said Vikram.
Meanwhile, Deputy CEO & COO of the Arsari Group, Aryo P.S. Djojohadikusumo, explained that the competitiveness of a nation can only be realized if all layers of society have equal opportunities to develop.
"We present leaders who not only understand how to build and manage infrastructure on a large scale, but also understand why it is important for connected communities, for empowered businesses, and for Indonesia's position in the digital economy in the future," he concluded.
