Google is showing off its latest innovations at the Google Cloud Next '26 event. From the many innovations discussed, one of the interesting ones is their collaboration with Apple.

At the event, Google alluded to Apple's long-promised Siri improvements. The digital assistant is confirmed to use the Gemini Artificial Intelligence (AI) model when the upgrade is released later this year.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian confirmed this collaboration by showing off the Apple logo during his keynote session. Kurian stated that Apple is one of the main customers who will take advantage of Google Cloud's advanced infrastructure.

"We are collaborating with Apple as their preferred cloud provider to develop the next generation of Apple Foundation Models based on Gemini technology. These models will help support future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri that will be available later this year," said Kurian, quoted from 9to5mac on Thursday, April 23.

This latest version of Siri is rumored to have better capabilities, including an interactive experience like a chatbot. Users can later give commands consisting of multiple actions at once in a single voice instruction.

In addition, this virtual assistant will also be equipped with persistent chat logs so that conversations feel more natural. This improvement is expected to be part of the iOS 27 operating system (OS).

Although this agreement has been confirmed, the technical details have not yet been shared by both companies. Apple is expected to share details of the Gemini integration in Siri when it holds the 2026 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) on June 8.
