JAKARTA - Google Cloud announced a long-term collaboration with AEON360, to bring a "continuous commerce" experience across AEON's retail, financial, and lifestyle ecosystems.
This initiative is the main foundation in AEON360's agenttic commerce roadmap with Google Cloud in Southeast Asia, which is designed to make every customer interaction more intuitive, and adapt to user needs and preferences in real-time.
"Together with Google Cloud, we are transforming from simple digital interactions to the use of AI agents that are able to provide the most relevant recommendations while carrying out more complex tasks for customers," said Daisuke Maeda, Chairman of AEON360 in his statement quoted Sunday, April 19.
This collaboration is centered on the development of a context-based intelligence engine that is able to understand the unique preferences and needs of each customer throughout their shopping journey in the AEON ecosystem.
For example, the system will automatically understand shopping habits and previous interaction history to present relevant product recommendations, member-specific prices, and real-time stock availability through myAEON2go or the nearest AEON MaxValu outlet.
Throughout the shopping journey, the system will also dynamically integrate various personalized financing and reward options (such as installments, cashback, or AEON points), so that customers can get the optimal benefits from the search stage to the checkout process.
To ensure AEON employees have a sound understanding and AI capabilities, Google Cloud will support the development of the AEON360 Innovation Foundry in Kuala Lumpur.
This center will equip employees with Google skills and certifications, as well as develop and expand the application of agenttic AI solutions that can increase customer engagement and open up new revenue opportunities across the AEON ecosystem.
AEON360 also plans to expand the implementation of agentless commerce beyond the AEON digital platform by adopting the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), which allows AI agents and retail systems to be integrated across consumer, business, and payment provider platforms.
"This collaboration will bring an agentless commerce solution supported by a 'continuous thread' of context, where information will remain connected and follow the customer's journey, so that AEON360 can anticipate and meet customer needs later," added Hana Raja, Country Manager Malaysia, Google Cloud.
This implementation will start in Malaysia and will reach several other countries in Southeast Asia. The next phase of implementation will be led by Low Ngai Yuen, Managing Director of AEON360, and Glen Chan, Chief Technology Officer of AEON360, who will translate this collaboration into a real experience for customers.
