JAKARTA - The partnership between Samsung and Perplexity has been revealed for a long time. Now, the partnership has been confirmed through the launch of Bixby, Samsung's artificial voice assistant, which has been updated.

Initially, the Bixby update powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) was rumored to be present in the Galaxy S26 series which will be released next year. However, the latest leak found by SammyGuru shows that the integration has already started to be active.

Bixby using Perplexity is seen in version 4.0.50.5 which is seen in the beta version of One UI 8.5. The latest version of Bixby looks to provide users with deeper and more contextual answers.

Bixby now not only answers questions rigidly, but is able to provide more information analysis. In a trial, Bixby was even able to answer questions about the weather by suggesting that users wear a jacket based on the air temperature.

This digital assistant can even explain the phenomenon of cold temperatures due to the wind with much more complete data than the previous version. This ability is a major improvement because the old Bixby version often fails to respond to similar questions.

With this improvement, Samsung will no longer have to rely on the Gemini capabilities developed by Google. They only need to improve the ability of Bixby so that the voice assistant can respond more naturally in the future.

The launch of Bixby based on Perplexity will be carried out after testing on the latest One UI interface system is completed. Later, Samsung mobile phone users will have another alternative to the smart assistant besides Gemini.
