JAKARTA - Google has officially started rolling out the Gemini feature on Google Maps, presenting hands-free navigation that replaces Google Assistant. With this update, users can stay focused on the road while relying on voice commands to navigate, report incidents, and find a place.
The news about Gemini's presence at the Maps service has actually been heard since the start of the month. Now, according to a 9to5Google report, the launch is starting to run widely.
The most striking change can be seen from the new Gemini spark-shaped icon that replaces the four-color Google Assistant microphone icon in the upper right corner of the navigation screen. Gemini is now fully taking over the voice assistant function in Maps and can be used in all navigation modes.
Gemini can be activated by tapping the spark icon. In addition, Google confirmed through its official support page that Gemini also responded to Google's Hey Google voice command. The page also provides a list of examples of commands that support a touchless driving experience.
Google previously promised this feature will come in a few weeks and is now proven to be fulfilled.
