JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs encourages all game publishers operating in Indonesia to always comply with applicable content regulations in the country.
Previously, the Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Komdigi, Alexander Sabar, had held a meeting with associations and game publishers regarding child protection and content moderation.
During the meeting, Komdigi emphasized the importance of the game's publisher to be responsible for presenting games that match the age of their players.
"We also need to convey to the gaming platform that they must also have a responsibility to create appropriate games, which also take care of especially for children," said Director of Digital Investigation of the Ministry of Communications Komdigi, Irawati Tjipto Priyanti when met in Jakarta, Thursday, November 20.
He also emphasized that all platforms are still obliged to comply with Electronic System Operators (PSE) regulations. "They have to be compatible with regulations. That has become a provision," he explained.
Even so, the government sees game publishers showing a positive commitment. He hopes that the communication that continues to be strengthened between the government and industry can ensure a safe game ecosystem for children.
"I think it's good, they definitely want to be complete. We also have a lot of communication, right. And they also have good intentions. I think everything will hopefully go well," he concluded.
