JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed that the number of online gambling transactions in Indonesia has decreased drastically by 57%.
PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana explained that by the third quarter of 2025, the number of online gambling transactions had been reduced to IDR 155 trillion, down from IDR 359 trillion in 2024.
"This means that, through very strong collaboration, under the direction of the President, we have seen a 57% decrease in transactions related to online gambling," Ivan said in a press conference with Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid at the PPATK office on Thursday, November 6.
Not only the total number of transactions, Ivan also revealed that the number of online gambling deposits in the country has been reduced from IDR 51 trillion in 2024 to IDR 24.9 trillion in 2025, a decrease of more than 45%.
Meanwhile, the head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) also stated that the number of online gamblers earning less than IDR 5 million has decreased by 67.92%.
"We have previously stated that 80% of online gamblers are our brothers and sisters who earn IDR 5 million or less. Now, compared to 2024, the number of players in the low-income category has decreased by 67.92%," he said.
Overall, the number of online gamblers in Indonesia as of Q3 2025 had decreased by 68.32% compared to 2024.
Ivan emphasized that this significant decline was possible due to the collaboration of all stakeholders. According to him, without collaboration, the number of online gambling transactions is estimated to reach IDR 1,000 trillion.
"If this collaboration and cooperation were not implemented or there were no government intervention, based on the parameters we have previously calculated, the number of transactions related to online gambling could reach more than IDR 1,000 trillion," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, from the Ministry of Komdigi's perspective, between October 20, 2024, and November 2, 2025, Komdigi successfully blocked access to 2,458,934 online gambling content sites spread across the internet.
