The Direct AirPods Translation Feature Is Confirmed To Be Present In The European Union

JAKARTA Apple confirmed that the Live Translation feature will be present in the European Union (EU) starting next December. This feature will be present at AirPods Pro and AirPods 4.

This feature is actually available in the US and a number of other countries, except for the EU. The area is experiencing delays because the Digital Markets Act (DMA) is uncertain. After it was confirmed that it would attend, Apple proved successful in handling the problem.

This real-time translation feature is an additional software that is very useful for AirPods users. In addition to the device that must be compatible, this feature can only be accessed if the AirPods used are installed with the iPhone running Apple Intelligence.

Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro to the iPhone 17 Series can run Apple Intelligence. This means that AirPods or AirPods Pro 4 users with Active Noise Cancelation who run the iPhone 15 and below cannot use the feature.

Live Translation is expected to debut in the EU as part of the iOS 262 software update. For now, the iOS version update is still in the testing phase in the developer's beta channel.

This feature is very useful for tourists and residents in the EU who often interact in various languages. Some of the foreign languages supported by this feature include France, Germany, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

Languages in Asian areas such as Japan, Korea, and China are also included in the support list. To find out the availability of this feature, users can see a new 'Langsung' tab on the Translate app on the connected iPhone.

While using this feature, the translation on the iPhone will also display a transcript of the conversation. Keep in mind that this feature may still have a pause between speech and translation even though it is claimed to work in real-time.
