Xiaomi 17 Ultra Will Come In Two Versions, Equipped With Double Satellite Connectivity

JAKARTA - Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the successor to the flagship series that is highly anticipated. Based on the latest upload from the famous leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, a number of cellphones have been registered with the Chinese certification agency and are expected to be released in the near future.

Some of the devices mentioned include Huawei Mate 70 Air, Mate 80 series, Mate X7, Oppo Reno 15 series, Honor 500 series, Vivo S0 lineup, OnePlus Ace 6 series (possibly the Turbo version), and Redmi Turbo 5 series. Interestingly, DCS confirms that Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be present in two different variants.

Two Xiaomi Variants 17 Ultra

According to the leak, Xiaomi has registered two models with the number 2512BPNDAC and 25128PNA1C. Both will support UWB (Ultra-Wideband), a proximity connectivity technology that allows high precision in tracking devices or inter-gadget interactions of the Xiaomi ecosystem.

However, the highest variant of the 17 Ultra will be equipped with dual satellite connectivity, namely Tiantong for voice calls via satellite and Beidou for short messages (short message communications). This feature allows users to stay connected in extreme locations such as deserts, mountains, or in the middle of the sea even without conventional cellular networks.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Specifications

From the previous reports, Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to be bringing a premium design with a large circular camera module on the back. The front screen will use a 6.8-inch flat OLED panel with a 2K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset which offers improved graphics performance and power efficiency. Other features include wireless charging, IP68 water and dust-resistant certification, as well as a large Xiaomi Jinsha River battery, which promises high durability.

The camera sector is the main focus of Xiaomi 17 Ultra. DCS said this phone will carry a 50 MP main camera with a large new generation sensor and deep-sensor zoom technology. In addition, there is a 200 MP periscope lens that is able to capture images with various focal lengths while supporting macro shoots.

With this combination, Xiaomi promises a significant improvement in the dynamic range, image details, and photo quality at all conditions of lighting.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will reportedly come in three elegant color choices: black, white, and purple. The launch is expected to take place before the Chinese Spring Festival (early 2026).

For prices, the basic variant is estimated to be priced at around 6,000 Yuan or equivalent to Rp. 13 million (current exchange rate).

With a combination of luxury design, professional class camera, and dual satellite connectivity, Xiaomi 17 Ultra seems ready to be one of the most innovative flagship smartphones in 2026.
