JAKARTA - Elon Musk is again shaking the digital world. Its artificial intelligence company, xAI, officially released Grokipedia an AI-powered envelope that is predicted to be a direct competitor to Wikipedia.
Launched in the early version v0.1, Grokipedia builds on the AI Grok model that is able to automatically create, verify, and update fact entries. Musk announced its launch via platform X (formerly Twitter), with its signature confidence: Groikipedia is already better than Wikipedia even in version 0.1. Version 1, it will be ten times better.
This premiere version includes about 885,279 articles created using xAI's large-scale computing system. Grokipedia's main page appears simple clean, lightweight, featuring only search fields and some main navigation links. Each article contains a brief summary, is equipped with a reference source, and continues to be automatically updated by the Grok model.

Unlike Wikipedia, users cannot directly edit pages. Instead, they can request corrections or updates via assistant conversation Grok. After reviewing the request, Grok will process and implement auto-approved changes.
Interestingly, Grokipedia is open source, so anyone can use or modify its skeleton. Most of the initial content was adapted from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. However, a number of users highlighted the absence of direct citations as well as the lack of transparency in the renewal process.
The public response was divided into two. Many praised the clean look, neutral summary, and fast presentation style in the style of Grokipedia. However, not a few have criticized the lack of context, the gap in facts, and the potential for algorithmic bias.
Musk admitted that the launch had been delayed because the xAI team had to clean up propaganda and ensure balanced coverage. Although there are still minor technical problems, Grokipedia is considered the first step towards a new era of AI-based knowledge platforms.
For now, Grokipedia can be accessed via the Groikipedia.com site, and users can log in using their X account. No app versions for Android or iOS are available yet.
This move reinforces Musk's ambition to make AI not just a conversational aid, but also a guard and an "automatic, open, and (according to him) free from bias."
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
