X Is Threatened With Obtaining Sanctions From Komdigi If You Don't Pay A Fine

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has issued a third Warning Letter for platform X because it has not fulfilled the obligation to pay an administrative fine of IDR 78,125,000 that has been previously stipulated.

This action is part of law enforcement for violating the mandatory moderation of pornographic content found in the results of digital space surveillance by Komdigi on September 12, 2025.

However, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade, Nezar Patria, did not reveal when the deadline given to X would be to fulfill the fine. However, Nezar hopes that X can respond as soon as possible.

"It's a process, and communication is being built. Yes, as soon as possible (retard time). We'll see next week," said Nezar after the Komdigi Digital Talent Forum "Synergy of Training Data for Strengthening Indonesia's Digital Talents on Friday, October 17 at the Komdigi office, Jakarta.

If X does not fulfill the warning and fine, Nezar said, there will be follow-up to the government, such as giving a written warning to evaluate the permit for Electronic System Operators (PSE).

"Yes, it has been regulated in the Ministerial Regulation (Ministerial Regulation), namely the sanctions can be written warnings, up to the fact that there is a non-compliance, maybe the PSE permit can also be re-evaluated," he said.

The escalation and accumulation of administrative fines is carried out in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) No. 43 of 2023 concerning Types and Tariffs on Types of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the Ministry of Communication and Information, as well as Decree of the Minister of Communication and Information Number 522 of 2024 concerning Governance of Content Moderation Compliance Systems (SAMAN).

The Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Komdigi, Alexander Sabar, emphasized that this step is part of the government's commitment to keep Indonesia's digital space safe, healthy, and productive, and ensure that the national digital industry grows based on the principles of legal responsibility and compliance.

he also explained that all administrative fines imposed on X would be processed through an official mechanism and deposited directly into the state treasury managed by the Ministry of Finance.
