Komdigi Inaugurates Garuda Spark Innovation Hub In Bandung, Encourages Digital Transformation

JAKARTA - Coinciding with 80th Bhakti Postel Day, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs launched the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub at BLOCK71 Bandung, an open innovation center for the younger generation, communities, and digital creative industry players.

Minister of Trade Meutya Hafid said that the presence of the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub is a new milestone in affirming Indonesia's commitment to accelerating digital transformation.

"We are making a new history by giving birth to the first Innovation Hub from the Ministry of Communication and Industry in collaboration with stakeholders from the Ministry of Communication and Trade to become the forerunner of the advancement of digital transformation in the country," Meutya said in her official broadcast quoted on Sunday, September 28.

Meutya also explained that one of the reasons Bandung was chosen as the location for the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub was because Bandung had long been known as a center of creativity, education, and technology.

This facility is expected to be a gathering room, discussion, and collaboration for digital startups. This facility provides meeting rooms, classrooms, high-speed internet, as well as network access with mentors, investors, and the technology community.

"Garuda Spark Innovation Hub can be a gathering space and discussion to give birth to innovations through new startups in the digital field," hoped Meutya.

Kemkomdigi does not stop in Bandung. Similar Innovation Hubs will be present in other cities to capture the creativity of the younger generation throughout Indonesia.

With the principle of locally adapted, nationally coordinated and the slogan From Spark to Impact, Garuda Spark Innovation Hub is expected to be able to turn simple ideas into real solutions that have an impact on society.
