JAKARTA Google announced an update for the Gemini 2.5 Flash model. The update, which is already available in the Gemini app, includes increasing the response format to better image understanding.

"Gemini 2.5 Flash has just received some new updates. You'll see improved step-by-step help for homework, more organized responses, and improved image understanding," Google said via GeminiApp account on X.

The updated Gemini 2.5 Flash model is now responding in a much more organized format and easy to understand. Gemini will respond automatically with elements such as titles, lists, and tables.

This increase is here to facilitate the delivery of complex information. That way, users can better understand what Gemini explained.

Next, Google fine-tunes Gemini's reasoning skills, especially for elusive subjects. Users will now receive a 'clearer explanation' and a more structured step-by-step guide.

The next update focuses on image understanding. Now, users can upload 'more detailed images or diagrams' into the Gemini app. Later, the AI model will help users read data with complicated visualization.

This improvement also allows Gemini to process handwritten note photos. Once the image is uploaded, the user can ask Gemini to compile, summarize, or even create a flash card from the note material.

These updates can be accessed by all users when they select the Gemini 2.5 Flash model. These features demonstrate Google's commitment to making Gemini a more effective academic aid and productivity.
