JAKARTA Neuralink plans to start a new clinical trial in the US in October. Through this trial, Neuralink will try implants that can translate the mind into text.

The purpose of this program is to help people with speech disabilities to communicate. This study will be conducted through the exception of the FDA investigation device.

"If you imagine something, we will be able to understand it," said Neuralink President DJ Seo. This shows the company's big ambition in the field of brain-computer interface technology.

This implant is expected to accelerate the communication process by translating direct thoughts from the patient's speech cortex. This has the potential to eliminate the need for intermediaries.

Neuralink isn't the only company developing this technology, but they are one of the most prominent. The company has run five other clinical trials, including in Canada and the UK.

Trials in the US will be the latest in a series of studies.

"We are imagining a world where in about three to four years, there will be someone healthy who will get Neuralink," he said.

This vision shows that this technology is not only aimed at people with disabilities.

He also explained the future capabilities of the implant. Seo looks optimistic about the technology developed. According to him, "(this implant) shows the ability to talk to the latest AI model, or LLM model, as quickly as possible.
