JAKARTA - Apple officially launched its newest iPhone line iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new super thin model, iPhone Air. This latest series brings a number of features that were previously identical to Android, ranging from the 120Hz screen, larger storage capacity, to high-resolution cameras with advanced zoom.
However, the question is: is all of this enough to tease Android users to move to the iPhone?
The Android Authority website holds a poll involving nearly 1,000 Android users. The results show that the majority still survive with their current choice.

Apple has finally presented a 120Hz screen across the iPhone 17 line, as well as a brighter screen panel, answering one of the main shortcomings compared to Android flagship phones. Not only that, the initial storage capacity now starts from 256GB, up from 128GB which has been standard so far.
In the performance sector, Apple embeds the latest A19 and A19 Pro chips that are claimed to be faster and more power efficient. In addition, the iPhone 17 battery is also said to last longer, making it more competitive with superior Android phones in endurance.
For photography enthusiasts, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are now equipped with three 48MP cameras, including a telephoto lens with a lossless zoom capability of up to 8x, a feature that has been the selling value of premium Android.
Several other features that were previously only found on Android phones have also begun to be adopted by Apple. Vapor chamber is now available in the Pro technology model that has long been used in Android flagship to keep the phone's temperature stable while playing games or heavy multitasking.
On the software side, Apple introduces Apple Intelligence, an AI feature that strengthens its on-device experience and improves security through deeper hardware memory protection. Although not as complex as the AI feature on Android, Apple is clearly catching up.
Even though Apple has cleaned up a lot, not all Android users are interested in moving. The reasons vary, ranging from preference for customization, operating system flexibility, to iPhone prices that are considered too high. For some people, the new features of the iPhone are just an attempt to catch up, not a leap of innovation.
Apple is clearly narrowing the gap in features between the iPhone and Android. However, poll results show that although many Android users are starting to look, most are still not ready to "jump the fence." Will next year be different? We'll see.
