JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi)'s Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) together with Yandex officially closed the free Linear Models in Machine Learning: Fundations and Applications training program.

Launched in April 2025, the course was designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to linear models in machine learning by combining theoretical foundations and direct practices.

"This kind of training program plays an important role in empowering the younger and professional generation in their fields in order to obtain the skills needed to build Indonesia's future," said Boni Pudjianto, Head of the Communication and Digital Human Resources Development Agency, Kemkomdigi.

A total of 1,295 students who took part in this course studied the basics of machine learning, pre-processing techniques of key data, as well as basic concepts of linear regression including analytic approach and gradient descent as an optimization algorithm in model training.

In addition, this training also discusses general challenges in machine learning, validation methods, and strategies to turn business problems into effective machine learning solutions.

Through practical training and real-world case studies, participants will then implement these machine learning models using Python and Scikit-learnn.

As one of the administrators of DTS, Yandex Search International CEO Alexander Popovskiy appreciated the high interest of Indonesia's young generation in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technology.

"This training initiative is in line with the Government's AI National Strategy which encourages the birth of new talents to take advantage of AI," Alexander concluded.
