JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, emphasized that increasing investment in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is the foundation to accelerate national digital transformation.

According to him, ICT can open new opportunities in various sectors such as health, education, logistics, energy, and government. Thus, the use of this technology can encourage added value for the economy.

To accelerate this economic growth, we must fully utilize the available technological potential. Therefore, digital transformation is no longer an option, but is the main driving engine for economic development," he explained at the opening of the Digital Transformation Indonesia Conference and Expo (DTI-CX) 2025.

According to Nezar, the acceleration of the use of digital technology, especially through the increase in ICT investment in priority sectors, is one of the main strategies in 8 percent economic growth.

Not only from a macroeconomic perspective, Nezar highlighted the potential use of artificial intelligence (AI) to increase labor productivity.

He said that the strategic optimization of AI utilization could increase productivity by 3.5 percent per year.

"More than just numbers, ICT has a real transformative role by providing added value to the industry and increasing productivity," he said.

To support a healthy and inclusive digital ecosystem, Komdigi focuses on developing basic infrastructure that is equitable and developing next-generation technology.

As part of the long-term development direction, the Ministry of Communication and Industry has also launched the 2045 Digital Indonesia Vision which is designed to form a strong and adaptive national digital ecosystem.
