JAKARTA PayPal, a global online payment service, will release a platform called PayPal World. In developing this platform, PayPal partners with companies from various countries.
The UPI mobile payment framework from PayPal World will be operated by NPCI International Payments Limited from India. PayPal also collaborates with Tenpay Global, Tencent Payment branch which manages the Weixin (WeChat) payment ecosystem.
PayPal is also rumored to have signed a memorandum of understanding with Mercado Pago in Latin America, a fintech company that provides card and mobile payments. The final details of the deal are not yet known.
The launch of this platform is an important initiative for PayPal. By launching PayPal World, the company wants to simplify the trading process globally. That way, transactions between countries can be carried out by billions of people.

With this platform, users can pay others only by using their digital wallets and local payment systems. This is done to remove barriers in transactions so that cross-border payments can be smoother.
"PayPal World is the first payment ecosystem to unify many of the world's largest payment systems and digital wallets," said Alex Chriss, President and CEO of PayPal, citing TechCrunch. "We believe the changes we announced today have the potential to be a real game change over time."
PayPal World will launch this fall with partners from various countries. In addition to launching the platform, PayPal stated that Venmo users can make online and offline shopping payments starting next year.
