JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump has confirmed that there will be no further extension to the country's special tariff which will take effect in early August 2025.
Trump announced a new tariff of 50% on imported copper products and threatened a massive (up to 200%) tariff for pharmaceutical products if the drug company does not move its production to the US in the next year.
In addition, India and Indonesia will be subject to an additional 10% tariff due to their involvement in the BRICS, and the European Union is also threatened with new tariffs in the near future due to tensions over taxes and fines imposed on US tech companies.
Apparently, Trump's new tariff decision sparked a spike in copper prices and turmoil in the financial market, while pharmaceutical sector stocks had fallen due to fears of new tax burdens.
According to Reku analyst Fahmi Almuttaqin, if implemented, it could trigger new instability in the global market, increasing the risk of stagflation and inflationary pressure due to rising import prices of key goods.
For crypto investors, Fahmi explained, this uncertainty could strengthen Bitcoin's appeal as a 'safe haven' and hedge against the weakening of fiat currencies and stock market volatility.
"However, short-term volatility also tends to increase, along with market responses to changing trade policies," Fahmi said in a statement.
Therefore, he advised crypto investors to monitor inflation data, change in risk-off sentiment, and rotation of cross-aset capital that could occur due to the escalation of the trade war in the second half of 2025.

According to him, this could be a signal that the current price is the basis before rising, and there could be a big increase by the end of 2025.
"For crypto investors, this can be a signal to consider gradually increasing position (dollar-cost averaging/DCA) during this range. However, it remains important to maintain risk management because short-term volatility is still possible when short-term selling pressures continue," he concluded.
