JAKARTA Platform X, formerly known as Twitter, will pilot the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Community Records feature. This initiative is believed to accelerate the verification process.

Community Notes are a feature introduced by X after being owned by Elon Musk. This feature gets a lot of praise because users can add context or correct misleading or ambiguous viral posts.

With the popularity of the Community Records feature, not a few social media platforms social media have adopted the feature. Some of the apps that took part in this feature are Facebook, Instagram, and Threads under the auspices of Meta.

Community records have proven to be quite effective in fighting disinformation on platform X. However, X's plans to integrate Ai into it may disrupt or even undermine the success of the platform.

Even though it is being rigorously tested, AI is still different from humans. The verification process may be the same, but AI is prone to hallucinations or problems with misinformation delivery and inaccurate. Simply put, AI can create contexts.

This AI-based note can use Grok from xAI which is integrated within X or any other AI model linked through API. When AI Records are allowed, X will continue to maintain post verification from human writers.

AI-generated Community Records Testing is only carried out on a group of users. Reportedly, this test will be carried out over weeks until X is ready to roll out its features more widely.
