The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has formed an evaluation team to address problems at the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS). This team has been formed since last year.

Inspector General of the Ministry of Trade Arief Tri Hardiyanto said that this evaluation team had been formed after the ransomware attack in 2024. This team was assigned to observe the work process of the data center.

"At that time (the attack occurred), I assigned a team to evaluate how the PDNS worked, especially from the process for security," Arief told reporters when met at the Komdigi Office on Thursday, June 5.

Arief explained that this team provides competent auditors and understands the IT sector very well. That way, Komdigi can understand how ransomware can attack PDNS and how to overcome it in the future.

"We already have eight certified auditors. So, when we asked for an evaluation, we had collected information about the weaknesses of the implementation of the PDNS and recommendations for improvement," explained Arief.

This evaluation team is still operating, especially after the PDNS project corruption case was revealed. Arief revealed that the team was studying the case and conducting audits from various sides, both technical and technological.

"Right now, with there being corruption cases ... we have considered it, we have evaluated it. That process will continue," said Arief. "We (have) conducted audits from aspects of governance, human resources, and governance of technology human resources."

Previously, Komdigi Minister Meutya Hafid stated that his party had taken the first steps related to the PDNS corruption case. Komdigi has conducted an internal evaluation to make strategic governance improvements.

"The ministry fully supports the legal process, and we immediately form an internal evaluation team to make comprehensive improvements to the management of the data center project," Meutya said in a statement.
