JAKARTA Discord celebrated its 10th birthday recently. As a form of appreciation to its users, Discord shared internal data regarding user habits over the past month.

The communication platform is often used to play games and Discord is aware of this. The reason is, more than 90 percent or about 200 million users of the platform have been seen playing games on PCs, mobile phones and consoles in the last 30 days.

If calculated as a whole, Discord users have spent more than 2 billion hours playing games every month. This habit is also accompanied by the running of the Discord Voice feature.

Users usually take advantage of this feature during playing games with friends. In fact, in the past month, the usage time of Discord Voice has tripled due to the large number of users playing collaborative games.

"92 percent of you play games while hanging out in voice," Discord said, quoted on Friday, May 16. "When playing with friends, your game session will last 7 times longer. Training will make the team's game more synchronous."

Interestingly, users' conversations did not end immediately, the three games were over. Two of the three people reportedly continued to watch videos as long as Discord Voice was running. Meanwhile, 59 percent of them decided to listen to music together.

Some other users are also interested in watching movies or events together after the game ends. Of the many calling activity on the platform, the average voice call on the server consists of only four people.

"You have chosen to come to our platform to play, win, lose, laugh, cry, and live a life together, no matter how far apart you and your friends are. We are very grateful," said Discord.
