Galaxy Tab S8 Officially Gets One UI 7 Update Based On Android 15 Globally

JAKARTA After launching in South Korea last week, Samsung has now officially rolled out the One UI 7 update globally for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. This update is based on Android 15 and is becoming available to users in various regions, including the United States and Europe.

This One UI 7 update comes with a version of the X700XU9DYDC firmware, and includes Android security patches for April 2025. As usual, updates are made in stages (staged rollout), so it will probably take a few days for all users to receive them.

One UI 7 presents a major change in terms of interface (UI), becoming one of Samsung's biggest visual refreshers in recent years. Samsung's built-in application also received a new design touch that is more modern and intuitive.

In addition to the display, Samsung is also improving the customization and personalization features at One UI 7. Animations are made more subtle, as well as several new Galaxy AI-based features embedded in this update. One of the features anticipated, namely Now Bar, is likely to also be present on the Galaxy Tab S8 as in Samsung's latest line of phones although it is not yet fully certain.

Android 15 Comes Completely

As the basic operating system of One UI 7, Android 15 brings a number of improvements in terms of security, power efficiency, and notification management. Thus, Tab S8 users will feel the best combination of Google and Samsung innovations in one major update.

Because the size of the update file is quite large, users are advised to use the WiFi connection when downloading so as not to spend the cellular data quota.
