JAKARTA Meta AI has just launched in independent app versions on the App Store and Google Play Store. Although still relatively new, paid advertisements and packages are planned to be available on the application.
This plan was revealed directly by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. In the first quarter 2025 earnings call, the Meta owner discussed offering a premium or paid package first.
The premium version of Meta AI will open up 'more computing and extra functions' according to Zuckerberg. In addition, this differentiated service will offer better performance, more tokens, and more.
The addition of paid packages is nothing new for Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots. Applications such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, to Microsoft's Copilot already provide similar packages on each platform.

Although this plan has been disclosed, Zuckerberg did not say when the premium level would be added to the Meta AI app. The specific feature for this level has not yet been revealed as Meta AI is still being developed in some areas.
"I estimate we will focus more on scale and deepening engagement at least over the next year before we are really ready to start building a business," Zuckerberg said, quoted by The Verge.
Meanwhile, the plan to add ads will carry the concept of 'product recommendations'. Meta may add another ad model to Meta AI, but not in the near future. For now, the company will focus on application development.
