JAKARTA Late last year, Google launched NotebookLM to more than 200 countries. Now, the company is adding a new language for one of the features available in it, namely Audio Overview.

Overview audio already provides more than 50 languages, including Indonesian. Supported by Gemini audio, NotebookLM users can choose the desired language and create podcasts from the conversation text they created.

"The more people who can use Audio Overview in their preferred language, from Africans to Hindis to Turkey, and much more," Google said, quoted on Wednesday, April 30. "We plan to continue building and perfect (the features)."

In addition to adding language support, Google also launched the 'Language Output' option into the NotebookLM settings. With this new option, Audio Overview users can change the language they have previously selected.

"You can change the language at any time and your audio and chat responses will reflect this, making it easier to create multilanguage content or learning materials as needed," Google explained.

The Audio Overview feature can also be used by teachers and students. For example, a teacher can prepare lessons about Amazon's rainforest in video form. After that, teachers can add audio support and make videos like documentaries.

Students can also improve their insight by making Audio Overview using the language of choice. They can use this feature to process research papers in foreign languages or English-speaking studies.

The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
