JAKARTA - Director General of Public Communication and Media of the Ministry of Communication and Digo, Fifi Aleyda Yahya, emphasized that Electronic System Operators (PSE) in Indonesia are also responsible for creating a safe digital space for children.
This obligation is in line with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas which was just published some time ago.
"This is not only the duty of the government or parents, but also PSE as a platform provider. They are obliged to provide features that protect children from harmful content," Fifi said as quoted on Monday, April 28.
The Ministry of Communication and Industry also appreciates the steps taken by a number of PSEs that have blocked risky features for children, such as live streaming and account creation without age verification.
Because according to Fifi, collaboration between the government, PSE, and the community is very crucial to ensure the implementation of the Tunas PP runs optimally.
With the PP Tunas, Komdigi hopes that Indonesia's digital ecosystem will be more inclusive and safe for the younger generation. The government will continue to monitor PSE's commitment to implementing child protection policies on their respective platforms.
