JAKARTA - Google is again presenting a new feature for the Google Photos application which is increasingly pampering its users. This time, users can edit photos quickly before sharing them. This feature allows users to cut and improve photo quality in just seconds before the photo is sent. Even so, for now, this fast edit feature is still limited to crop and endorsement, without the light setting option or saturation.

In an effort to enrich user experience on mobile devices, Google has previously launched a new HDR tool to refresh old photos, as well as upgrades to facial recognition features. Now, the search engine giant is introducing a server-side update that brings a new feature called "Quick Edit" in the Google Photos app.

The "Quick Edit" Feature Is Available For Some Users

This new feature is rolling out gradually through an update from the server side, and currently only a small number of users can enjoy it. However, Google is expected to soon expand the availability of this feature to more users in the next few days.

Some users reported that when sharing photos via Google Photos, they are now greeted by a new page that reads "Quick Edit". Previously, the photo sharing process in Google Photos was very simple: simply press the share button when viewing photos, then select the contact or destination application. However, with the presence of Quick Edit, users now have the opportunity to edit a little photos first before sharing them.

What Can Be Done In Quick Edit?

On this Quick Edit page, users can:

Cutting (Crop) part of the photo as desired.

Improve photo quality (Enhance) automatically with one touch.

Although practical, this feature does not support further editing options such as lighting settings, saturation, or the use of Google's artificial intelligence technology for image refinement.

Can Be Deactivated If It's Annoying

Although this feature can be useful for improving photos before sharing, some users may feel disturbed, especially when they have to share lots of photos at once. The good news is, Google provides the option to disable Quick Edit. Just tap the settings cod at the top of the Google Photos app, then turn off the Quick Edit feature so that the photo sharing process returns to its original direct without having to edit.

This update is part of Google's ongoing efforts to make Google Photos more intuitive and flexible according to the needs of its users. If you haven't got this feature, users are advised to be patient for a few more days until the launch is wider.
