JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, invites IBM to invest in Indonesia's digital ecosystem to accelerate digital transformation and build sustainable technology infrastructure.

Meutya emphasized that the government is currently accelerating the construction of three National Data Centers (PDN) which will become the backbone of digitalization in the public and private sectors.

The first PDN in Cikarang is scheduled to operate in the first quarter of 2025, while the other two will follow in Batam and another location that is still being studied.

"We want IBM to be involved in the development of cloud computing services, computing infrastructure, and data center operations to strengthen Indonesia's digital competitiveness," said Meutya.

Meanwhile, IBM Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Developing Market, Ana Paula Assis, enthusiastically welcomed this invitation.

The government also affirms its commitment to creating policies that support investment in the digital sector, including data protection and pro-business regulations.

The Director General of Digital Government Technology at the Ministry of Trade, Mira Tayyiba, emphasized the government's readiness to build a conducive ecosystem for investors.
