US And India Strengthen Collaboration And Innovation In Space Missions

JAKARTA The United States and India strengthen partnerships in various aspects, one of which is space. The two countries alluded to the NISAR space mission and alluded to the innovation of the latest collaboration.

The White House released a joint statement after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US President Donald Trump. Through the release, the White House revealed that it had made INDUS Innovation a driver of progress and investment.

INDUS Innovation is referred to as an 'innovative bridge' designed to encourage investment in a number of sectors, namely space, energy, and technology. That way, the US and India can strengthen leadership in innovation and technology.

This innovation is based on the platform INDUS-X which according to the US has been successful. Despite making the latest technological innovations, INDUS-X will continue to facilitate partnerships between defense companies, investors, and universities in various US and Indian regions.

Furthermore, Modi and Trump briefly discussed the space partnership through the NISAR mission, abbreviation from NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar. This spacecraft will be launched to map changes to the Earth's surface systematically.

Reflecting on the NISAR mission, the leaders of the two countries plan to establish more collaborations in space missions. The hope is that the mission they develop can include exchanging professional workers to creating a planetary protection plan.

"The leaders are calling for more collaboration in space exploration, including long-term human space missions, space safety, and sharing expertise and professional exchanges in developing areas, including planetary protection," the White House wrote in the joint statement.

Industrial involvement in conventional or developing fields is also important. The US and India will strengthen collaboration in the fields of connectivity, advanced space, space sustainability, space tourism, to satellite and space launch systems.
