Twitch announced major changes in its policy enforcement system, which aims to provide more clarity to users regarding account status and history of violations.

In its announcement, the company said that any violations will expire. This means that these violations will not be permanently recorded on the user's account.

Starting today, most of the offenses will expire and be removed from the account after a certain period of time, the representatives of Twitch, Sakina Arsiwala and Christine Weber on its official website.

They assert that this new policy is meant to provide a sense of justice for the entire streamer, and provide them with the opportunity to correct their mistakes.

For minor offenses such as fraud in online games will expire within 90 days. Meanwhile, more serious violations such as hate speech will remain on the account longer, with an expiration date of 1 to 2 years.

However, it should be noted that for the most serious offenses, Twitch will still provide appropriate action such as a permanent suspension on the account, as soon as possible.

If you receive an indefinite suspension due to the accumulation of multiple violations in a short time, you can apply for account recovery after 6 months, the company said.

With this change, Twitch hopes their enforcement system will be fairer and more transparent. While users who have good intentions have the opportunity to improve themselves, repeat offenders will still be subject to heavier sentences.
