JAKARTA When announcing the launch of the 2.0 Flash model, Google said that it would remove older models, namely the 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro from Gemini. Now, both are officially removed.

When you open Gemini and tap on the model options at the top, users will be aware of this change. Model 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro have been removed from Gemini's website or Gemini's mobile app for Android and iOS devices.

Previously, free and paid users would automatically use the 1.5 Flash model to get 'daily help'. Once the Artificial Intelligence (AI) model is removed, users will now use the 2.0 Flash automatically to perform lightweight tasks.

Although the AI 1.5 series has been removed, Gemini is still providing the 1.5 Pro for Deep Research which was recently launched. Using this AI model, users can conduct in-depth research on various complex topics.

In addition to the 1.5 Pro for Deep Research, Google retains 2.0 Flash, 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental, and 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental with the app. All three can be used by free or paid users with different tokens.

Gemini Advanced users, a paid version of Gemini, can access more features such as file uploads with 1 million tokens or the equivalent of up to 1,500 pages. They also get other features such as Withdrawal and 1.5 Pro for Deep Research.

Of all available models, Google has not launched version 2.0 Pro, a replacement for the previous model that has been removed. The company has also not launched 2.0 Pro in experimental form so this version cannot be accessed by anyone.
