Facebook Will Automatically Delete Live Videos After 30 Days

JAKARTA Not only Instagram, Facebook also has a feature to broadcast live. Whenever the Live feature is used, users can save their broadcasts indefinitely.

This has changed from Wednesday, February 19. In its official broadcast, Meta, which houses the platform, said that Facebook had updated the duration of live broadcast video storage. Live videos can only be downloaded or shared within 30 days.

After that, the video will automatically be deleted from the user's Facebook Page or Profile section. Before the live video is permanently deleted and automatically, Facebook will give 90 days to select multiple options.

Users can download their videos, move them to cloud storage, or convert their videos as Reels. This Live content removal feature is not yet available across the country. Meta will launch its features in stages within a few months.

"The removal process will take place in stages over the coming months, and we provide new tools for people to download their old live broadcast video before it is removed in stages," Meta said.

Meta menjelaskan bahwa perubahan ini dilakukan agar mereka bisa mengikuti standar penyimpanan yang diterapkan di industri. Mereka juga ingin menghadirkan pengalaman Live terbaik di Facebook dengan mengurangi kapasitas penyimpanan video Live.

"This change will align our storage policies with industry standards and help ensure we provide the latest live video experience for everyone on Facebook," explains Meta.
