Tumblr Launches GIF Special Feed After 10 Years

JAKARTA Tumblr, a blog-based platform for uploading various types of content, launched a new tab called Tumblr TV. This is good news for users who have been waiting for the feature for a long time.

Tumblr first released this tab experimentally in 2015. The tab was designed as a GIF search feature, but now its function is improved by adding video content. Simply put, this tab is similar to the FYP feed on TikTok.

Although Tumblr has been planning this tab since 10 years ago, the inclusion of video content is something new. It is undeniable that people in various parts of the world now prefer vertical video views thanks to TikTok's popularity.

Tumblr seems interested in the idea of a vertical video feed, as adopted by most social media today. In addition to improving the old user experience, Tumblr may adopt this feed to attract more users.

Even so, the Tumblr TV tab is currently still filled with GIFs. According to The Verge records that can already access Tumblr TV, this new tab feels like rolling out a group space filled with GIFs. If the user uploads more videos, the content of the content will change.

Through its official website, Tumblr said that this tab will be active by default in third place for users who have just joined. However, for older users, this tab will appear in the Dasbor tab configuration.

To get the same view as the new user, the old user must activate the Tumblr TV tab first. If the user had a problem due to a long tag, the user could update the application to fix the problem.
