JAKARTA - TikTok teaches digital security to parents and children through a school roadshow program entitled Seru Berkreasi and #Palingjaga. This program is held with non-profit organizations SEJIWA.
There are six high schools and vocational schools in the Jabodetabek area involved in the digital world training program, including SMAN 53 Jakarta, SMAN 73 Jakarta, SMA Regina Pacis Jakarta, SMA Labschool Cibubur, SMA Rimba Madya Bogor, and SMKN 3 Bogor.
During the program, TikTok and SEJIWA opened a panel discussion session, discussed digital awareness and security with more than 600 participants consisting of teenagers and parents, and explored the importance of understanding of digital platforms.
Based on an internal TikTok survey of the event, about 26 percent of teenagers still need parental assistance in facing challenges in the digital world. However, most teenagers will seek help from creators or other figures.
"This ROADshow shows that both parents and teenagers have their own challenges in dealing with digital security issues. Internal surveys and discussions ... help us to better understand what both parties need," said TikTok Indonesia Communications Director Anggini Setiawan in a statement received by VOI.

Anggini added that this roadshow can help TikTok in creating a more secure and comfortable digital space for teenagers. TikTok is also trying to bring the best information about all its features and policies to parents.
Diena Haryana, Founder of the SEJIWA Foundation, said that parents play an important role in increasing children's communication and trust in the digital realm. Therefore, parents need to learn what digital challenges their children may face.
Fortunately, 80 percent of parents think insight into digital challenges is very important for them. By understanding various digital security features, especially those on TikTok, parents can be better prepared to assist their teenage children.
