Razer Makes Sophisticated Masks Complete With RGB

JAKARTA - Razer, a multinational technology company that claims to have made a smart mask called Project Hazel. This reusable mask features a glossy, scratch-resistant exterior design made from recycled plastic.

This mask also has a transparent design so that other people can see the user's mouth movements and facial expressions when talking to other people. However, this device has not received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as from other agencies.

Razer said it was working with a team of medical experts and scientists to help develop the masks. The main feature of this mask lies in the two circular sections on both sides. Both function as ventilation.

From the outside, this mask looks like a futuristic gas mask. The company claims Project Hazel will take advantage of the disc-style ventilator to filter the air that users breathe. Likewise with CO2 that is exhaled from the mouth.

Razer also added that the masks will be fermented to filter out about 95 percent of airborne particles, including the Covid-19 virus and other common pathogens.

This ventilator can be removed and recharged. Razer is still considering two important factors for the mask, such as how long the ventilator will be effective in use and how Razer will warn users to replace it with a new one.

According to Razer, the period for using the ventilator is still in the testing phase. Razer envisions that users will be notified via their smartphone app when these filters need to be changed.

This mask is also equipped with a microphone and amplifier that has been implanted in the ventilator. Both of these tools function to project the user's voice through the mask. So, users don't need to worry that the sound will be muffled.

"This mask works with the THX sound technician to balance the volume for accessibility purposes," said Razer.

The company confirms that Project Hazel will make its users comfortable regardless of the technology embedded in it. This mask will protect the user's nose and chin with silicone, and use earloops that can be adjusted to the shape and size of each face.

The difference is, this mask made by Razer has a heavier weight than an ordinary mask. The reason is that the Project Hazel mask is equipped with supporting technology tools. Even though it is somewhat heavier than a mask in general, this device can be used by anyone.

Not a Razer product if this mask doesn't support Chrome RGB LEDs. This device can emit various colors of light according to the user's wishes. For example, when it gets dark, a set of active LEDs will automatically illuminate the mouth area so that other people can still see lip movements when talking.

The plan, this Project Hazel mask will also include a charger to sterilize the mask with ultraviolet light, as reported by TheVerge.
