JAKARTA The legal battle between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Twitter Inc., continues, even getting hotter. Both sides again issued accusations that would make the fighting widen even further.

Most recently Thursday, September 15, Billionaire Elon Musk accused Twitter Inc of committing fraud by hiding serious weaknesses in the data security of social media companies. Musk said the allegations would allow him to terminate a $44 billion acquisition deal to buy Twitter.

Musk, the world's richest man, changed his previous lawsuit by adopting accusations by a Twitter whistleblower, who told Congress last Tuesday about interference on an influential social media platform by foreign agents.

The chief executive of Tesla Inc also alleged that Twitter was hiding from him something that was not in accordance with the 2011 agreement with the Federal Trade Commission on user data.

"It goes without saying, the latest disclosure makes it clear that Musk has the full right to leave the Merger Agreement - for reasons that are quite independent," Musk's lawyers changed.

Musk said the complainant's claim, the former head of Twitter security Peter "Mudge" Zatko, was a disclosure of an attempt at fraud and contract violations by Twitter.

Musk has asked a Delaware judge to state that he is under no obligation to close a acquisition deal, while Twitter wants the judge to order Musk to buy the company for $54.20 per share. The five-day hearing is scheduled to start on October 17.

Twitter said it had carried out an internal investigation into Zatko's allegations and ruled that the allegations were inappropriate. The company said Zatko was fired for poor performance.

Twitter's attorney said in court that the whistleblower claiming Musk was involved in his case was not the reason to terminate the agreement or fail to meet fraud standards.
