Ghost Of Tsushima Becomes One Of The Best Selling Games On PS4

JAKARTA - The video game Ghost Of Tsushima has become one of the best-selling original intellectual property (IP) for PlayStation4 (PS4). This is a new achievement for Sony.

Initially, this game was launched last Friday and has sold 2.4 million copies (copies) in the first three days of release. PlayStation announced the news via Twitter in a congratulatory message to game developer Sucker Punch Productions.

"Congratulations @SuckerPunchProd, and thanks to fans around the world for joining Jin's journey," wrote PlayStation via its official Twitter account.

By comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn managed to distribute 2.6 million copies in its first two weeks of release, which means Ghost Of Tsushima will likely break that record.

Many other PlayStation exclusives have already released and sold more heavily over the weekend of their release, but most of the titles are based on pre-existing franchises.

The Last Of Us Part II previously announced record sales with 4 million copies sold in the first three days since its debut. The title has also managed to sell more games in the UK top ten game chart.

Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was also launched earlier this year, recorded a total of 3.5 million sales in its opening weekend.

As the release of the PS5 accelerates towards the end of this year, Sony has started to step up its promotion campaign and provide insights into the titles players can expect on future consoles.

Many predict the focus will likely continue the trend of exclusive games focused on stories like Ghost Of Tsushima.

An event revealed the PS5 recently launched a number of new games that will be releasing soon.

Insomniac Games revealed two new titles with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and a new Ratchet & Clank title that focuses on better graphics quality on PS5 devices.

Horizon Zero Dawn will also receive a sequel and continue Aloy's story as he seeks to continue his adventure across new lands.
